Youngsters leave mess on common

AT the end of each term school children and college youth party up a storm on the municipal common behind Greenacres. I am enclosing photographs of the disgusting mess these young people left behind last week.

This is the next generation and I shudder to think what is going to happen to this beautiful country in the future. These young people consume alcohol openly and many in their school uniforms, and then leave the bottles all over the place.

On occasions there is a strong smell of dagga! I wonder if their parents are aware of what is going on?

Many Greenacres residents feel it is time for the municipality to close this common as last year a young girl was almost raped and women have been mugged on their way across the common.

There is a leaking sewage drain on the common that was reported to the municipality three weeks ago and nothing has been done. The stench when the wind blows is unbearable.
