Side must learn to pass the ball

AS an old coach and provincial rugby player I enjoy watching intervarsity rugby where they play with two referees.

I would like to see the Springboks play with two rugby balls, kicking one ball away and the second ball we play with.

When coaching schoolboys they enjoyed the expression, "a rugby ball speaks to you".

A father said to me: "My son told me this. A ball has four panels.

"1 Don't kick me away, 2 Pick me up, 3 Hold me tight, 4 Pass me out."

We are not doing this.

I like what Nick Mallett said: if a player is sent off for dirty play, bring a reserve on. Why must 14 players suffer? Suspend the dirty player for six weeks without pay.

Coaches say we did well in the first half. If a player can't last for 80 minutes he shouldn't be playing.

If one is injured, he can be replaced.

I would like Mallett and Naas Botha as coaches of the Springboks who played the game and are not affiliated to any team.

Lastly we can beat both the All Blacks and the Australians. Good luck.
