Admit security at stadium poor

NOW that a fan has been injured at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium ("Rugby fan stabbed during EP Kings match", September 1), I feel the stadium's management should admit that security is not up to scratch. Far too often searches are not properly done upon entering and there is almost no security visible in the stands.

Hopefully the assailant will be identified. This could be made easier due to the reserved ticketing system used at rugby matches.

This is another reason why it should be extended to all matches, despite Access Facilities and Leisure Management's attitude toward soccer.

Management prefers to keep costs down by hiring fewer guards, instead of keeping fans safe. What are they waiting for, someone to bring a gun into the stadium?
