Poor road repair work

I WRITE this short e-mail out of concern about the quality of workmanship in the resurfacing exercise happening in Summerstrand. We had decent, smooth roads that were in need of some minor repairs in certain areas.

What we have now got is bumpy roads, with sunken manhole covers and hand-painted road markings – this in the area where we want to host a number of beachfront events and welcome tourists. This just does not make sense – why is our municipality allowing the standards to slip?
