I WAS privileged to be invited to enjoy an outstanding performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance, at the Savoy Theatre.
Early in the performance I was starkly reminded of how much talent and skill has to be on show to do such complete justice to this challenging and side- splittingly hilarious form of light comic opera.
All credit and congratulations must go to director Rose Cowpar, her stellar production team, and her well-drilled and spirited cast, for re-igniting this howlingly funny poke at the Victorian mindset. Highly recommended.
