Sad about lighthouse

CELEBRATING Heritage Day, I visited the Cape St Francis Lighthouse.
What a beautiful building, built in 1878, according to the well-weathered plaque.
It was very sad to see the lighthouse running into disrepair – the wooden windows need sanding and the once white building is full of cracks.
The lighthouse's light and its rusting metal covering also look in a real sorry state.
I believe Transnet owns the property. My dream is to see this beautiful lighthouse made into a coffee shop, so many people would come and visit it – with a visit over to the bird sanctuary.
Let's not lose this valuable, beautiful lighthouse.
