Successful SACP march in Lady Frere

THE SA Communist Party in the Eastern Cape, as part of commemorating the 20th anniversary of the death of our late general secretary, Chris Hani, led a successful march in Lady Frere, Emalahleni, Chris Hani district on Sunday. The march was led by SACP second deputy general secretary Solly Africa Mapaila, SACP provincial secretary Xolile Nqatha and party central committee members Fezeka Loliwe and Bulelwa Tunyiswa.

The march was also joined by the ANC regional chairman and secretary. The march drew scores of people from the communities of Emalahleni.

The march was a result of the Elitheni Coal Operations project.

We handed over a memorandum of demands to a Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism official, a Mr Ngethu, who committed the department to working with the SACP and the people to respond to the demands of the people.
