Collapsed balcony a danger to public

ON the corner of Govan Mbeki Avenue and Hutchinson Street in North End, Port Elizabeth, is a building, the balcony of which has partially collapsed on to the pavement below.

This ruin has been left untouched for several months, if not years, and is gradually becoming part of the face of Port Elizabeth (or at least its metro council).

Apart from it being unsafe for pedestrians to walk beneath the hanging concrete slabs, it also forces pedestrians off the pavement on to the street, thereby exposing them to danger from traffic.
