AFTER watching the Tri-Nations match on Saturday, I had to say something. I think Springbok coach Peter de Villiers needs to make better decisions in picking a capable squad for the World Cup.
I think a guy like JP Pietersen isn’t producing proper results and the same with Bryan Habana – they are supposed to be South Africa’s best wings. So I think it’s time to give a guy who has come back from injury and has had a good career, except for a long injury delay, a chance – this is Jongi Nokwe.
He could easily make the World Cup for the South Africa, but we will have to see and I think the time to test him is against the All Blacks in Port Elizabeth. He deserves the chance.
I’ve been watching Habana and Pietersen play since 2006 and they are getting old. Peter de Villiers, please give Nokwe the chance he deserves.
Try him at least on the bench for the All Blacks game and playing him for the last 35 minutes would be good enough, but you must give him that ball a lot and not just use the forwards always – it gets boring.
I think Danie Rossouw must leave the Springboks as he lost us the match at the end on Saturday and his hands are useless.
And I think Juan Smith must not be in the World Cup because he hasn’t played since February and imagine how slow he will be. He just tore his achilles tendon and he could hardly get to the line against Ireland, so imagine how slow he will be now.
