Tributes have flooded in for a respected food blogger who plunged to his death from a renowned London restaurant in an apparent suicide.
Wilkes McDermid, 39, is understood to have fallen from the Coq d’Argent roof terrace in the city moments after tweeting.
In his final Twitter post McDermid shared a link to his blog and said: “Final Message . . . thank you everyone . . .”
He fell to his death just before 6pm on Sunday.
On his website he published a post that quoted writer Samuel Johnson’s most famous utterance: “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life.”
“Johnson was right. I am not tired of London . . . however I am tired of life,” McDermid wrote.
