A Briton has been arrested in Spain on suspicion of murder after he allegedly punched a suspected paedophile he caught filming his daughter in a restaurant.
Witnesses said Kainth Davinder, 40, attacked the German man in the upmarket resort of Sotogrande, after snatching an iPad tablet out of his hand and finding photographs of his young daughter on it.
Sandro Rottman, 43, was taken to hospital but died shortly afterwards.
Detectives later revealed that he had been arrested last month for possessing indecent images of children.
The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, in a restaurant called The Spinnaker in the port area of the expensive resort.
Paramedics called to the scene rushed the victim to a hospital in La Linea, on the border with Gibraltar, but he died shortly after arrival.
A source at the Guardia Civil, which is investigating, said: “We believe he died as a result of the single punch he received, but this has yet to be confirmed by the postmortem results.”
