The body of Port Elizabeth cyclist and policeman Mike van der Watt has been found.
Police spokeswoman Colonel Priscilla Naidu confirmed that van der Watt’s body was found at about 2pm this afternoon in the Van Staadens River Gorge.
His body was found about 2km from the area in which his bicycle was found yesterday.
A pistol was found next to his body.
His body was airlifted out of the gorge.
Naidu said he was found with a gunshot wound to the right side of his head.
Van der Watt, 34 has been missing since Monday morning when he was seen leaving his Rowallan Park home on his bicycle at 6am.
No foul play is suspected.
