Tourists targeted in ATM scams

AN Italian engineer in Port Elizabeth on a work contract had nearly R20 000 stolen out of her bank account yesterday after her bank card was filched at FNB in Summerstrand Village.

CCTV footage seen by The Herald shows a well-orchestrated operation between four men and a woman.

The five suspects were well-dressed and pretended to wait in the queue to withdraw money from the ATM.

This was the second incident at Summerstrand Village in three days after more than R10 000 was stolen from a German tourist’s account on Friday.

Where is Bank security?? How can you have your money in a bank with no security? Beef it up or ship out for another competitor to take your place. Ive had money taken out my account at FNB and nothing is done about it.Shocking the wheel is round.
