Bay’s first black-owned engineering company

THE first 100% black-owned manufacturing and engineering company in Nelson Mandela Bay was launched in Perseverance yesterday.

Lawrence Global Manufacturing, which focuses on design and precision engineering and has clients such as VW and Mercedes-Benz, received financial support worth about R5-million from the Small Enterprise Finance Agency to help bring the project to fruition.

Danny Christian, the company’s managing director, called for the Department of Trade and Industry to align itself with industrialists to eradicate poverty in the Eastern Cape.
