Handicapped pupils celebrate Youth Month

ABOUT 500 beaming special needs pupils from schools across Nelson Mandela Bay, many of whom were in wheelchairs and on crutches, danced in celebration of National Youth Month at a special event held in Algoa Park, Port Elizabeth, yesterday.

In addition to giving the children an opportunity to have loads of fun, the event was also directed at educating the youth on the country’s turbulent history.

They were encouraged to appreciate and value the rights which were gained as a result of the struggle against apartheid.
