State urged to withdraw ambassador

THE ANC Youth League and the EFF have called on the government to cut ties with Israel.

During a public debate on the conflict between Palestine and Israel held at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University yesterday, the DA called for more negotiations between the two countries.

ANC Youth League Western Cape chairman Khalid Sayed said the league unapologetically believed that the South African government should withdraw its ambassador to Israel.

“It must expel the Israel ambassador to South Africa. We believe these moves will be necessary and decisive steps to isolate the apartheid state of Israel,” he said.

EFF MP Mbuyiseni Ndlozi said: “The EFF believes that Israel is an apartheid state. The acts of violence on the people of Palestine have to be described as ethnic cleansing,” Ndlozi said.
