Municipality slammed over water debacle, sewage leaks, IPTS
FRUSTRATED business leaders have slammed the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality for a string of service delivery blunders, saying it is lurching from one crisis to the next.
Speaking on behalf of several business owners, including some of the metro’s major employers, business chamber chief executive Kevin Hustler said they were extremely disappointed with the way in which the water crisis had evolved.
“It is not just severe challenges with electricity and water that we are faced with, it is sewage in the Swartkops estuary, corruption, traffic officers on strike, and the ongoing saga of the Integrated Public Transport System.”
He said the series of extreme service delivery challenges made it difficult for businesses to plan for production and retail sales as well as for ordinary people to live their lives.
