Zuma duped us

getimage (7)Government promises of funding for Nooitgedacht scheme laughed off – now water restrictions loom

President Jacob Zuma brought government ministers and other political bigwigs to Nelson Mandela Bay on the eve of last year’s election and promised to dish out millions of rands for one of the metro’s biggest water projects.

But yesterday it emerged that the R360-million needed to expand the Nooitgedacht low-level scheme was nothing but a pipe dream.

In fact, senior municipal officials said yesterday Treasury officials had laughed off their pleas last week to pour more money into the project.

The metro’s application for grant funding from the Development Bank of Southern Africa for Nooitgedacht was also turned down, leaving it with no option but to dig deep into its own pockets to fund the expansion.

Surely by now even his ANC supporters are aware of the fact that he is the King of Empty Promises?. A true shyster who tells his audience what they want to hear, hands out paltry gifts in order to sweeten people. Then stands and smiles when the promises are called in … and blames others as far back as Jan van Riebeeck for non delivery!!

Who dug into who’s pockets? Did this project continue or not? If so, how was it paid for? Has it been conpleted? Your article lacks detail.

Lies and deceit is the ANC trademark, however all is not lost as the election looms but what are the DA`s strategy to win votes from the electorate who are obviously ripe for a move to a more proactive political setup ie the DA,i await the response of the Leaders of the DA!
