Tributes poured in yesterday for Greenville Primary School governing body chairman Andrew Sauls, who has died after a short battle with leukaemia. He was 49.
Sauls died at the Provincial Hospital in Port Elizabeth at 10pm on Friday.
His death was described as a huge loss to the northern areas, where he had worked tirelessly to improve community safety and improve the lot of pupils and teachers.
Sauls had been vocal about teacher shortages in northern areas schools, heading the governing body forum that engaged district and provincial education officials to source teachers.
Sauls and his wife, Anastacia, would have celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary today. They have five children.
