Durban-born advocate comes to Bay with hopes of sweeping clean.
Newly appointed Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Advocate Indra Goberdan is looking forward to settling in the city and improving justice in Port Elizabeth. Goberdan, 44, who takes over from Advocate Chris Nel SC, who retired at the end of 2013, is excited about her new role and tackling the heavy workload at the office.
Born and raised in Durban, Goberban was previously based in the East London office as senior public prosecutor before her appointment and has a BProc degree as well as an LLB.
“I am humbled by the appointment and looking forward to contributing to justice in Port Elizabeth. I am excited about this role and I feel I will make a positive contribution here,” she said.
Goberdan said she had already started settling in the city with her family. She is married and has two sons.
