Guptagate scandal heading for court.

President Jacob Zuma could be called to testify in the Guptagate scandal.

In a drive to finally get to the truth, preparations are under way to call Zuma to testify in court regarding his alleged involvement in the incident.

The move comes after the Defence Department in a letter to the SA National Defence Union (Sandu) said yesterday that all charges against two air force personnel implicated in the scandal had been withdrawn.

Lieutenant-Colonel Christine Anderson and Lieutenant-Colonel Stefan van Zyl were blamed for allowing 200 wedding guests of the politically well-connected Gupta family to land at Air Force Base Waterkloof in 2013.

The chartered commercial aircraft brought the guests from India for the wedding of Vega Gupta, and his bride, Aakash Jahajgarhia, at Sun City.

Anderson and Van Zyl were suspended later.
