Pregnant rhinos at Pumba among poaching victims
By TMG Editor - 25 March 2014
POACHING activities at Pumba Game Reserve had done irreversible damage to rhino breeding efforts in the province, outraged conservation authorities said yesterday.
Three rhinos – including two which officials said yesterday were pregnant – were found dead at the reserve on Friday.
The two sub-adult rhinos – sisters aged between three and five years – and a seven-year-old adult were darted between Thursday and Friday.
Although all three died, only the younger two were dehorned. - Gareth Wilson
