State vehicles come under the hammer

MORE than 300 government vehicles, from various departments in the Eastern Cape, were put up for auction in East London yesterday.

Transport spokesman Ncedo Kumbaca said government vehicles were sold once they reached a certain mileage which depended on the type of vehicle and the department within which it was used. They were then put on auction by the Provincial Government Fleet Trading Entity.

“These vehicles come from all corners of the province, from different departments. Not only vehicles but some vehicle parts were also put up for auction.” – Riaan Marais
