Three arrested following Kamesh robbery

Three men were arrested on Friday afternoon, shortly after a business robbery in 22 Avenue, Kamesh.

Police spokeswoman Captain Gerda Swart said the three - aged between 18 and 30 - were arrested with the help of community members.

"It is alleged that five male suspects entered the shop and threatened the owner with knives. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money, airtime and cigarettes and fled on foot," she said.

"Police were notified and with the assistance of the community, three suspects were arrested and most of the stolen property recovered."

Swart said police would investigate whether the suspects were linked to any other crimes in the area.
