A Uitenhage farmer, arrested in connection with the killing of 11 stray cattle on his farm outside the town, will return to court on 4 July.
Carlo Andries Voigt, 37, appeared briefly in the Uitenhage Magistrate’s Court on charges of malicious damage to property, discharging of a firearm and contravening the animal protection act.
The case was postponed to July for further investigation and for the prosecution to get a copy of the police’s ballistic report.
Voigt, along with his attorney Andre Dorfling, left the court speedily after the case was adjourned.
