Man gunned down while repairing car

A man was killed and two wounded in a shooting in Port Elizabeth’s northern areas just before midnight on Saturday.

Police spokeswoman Colonel Priscilla Naidu said three men were trying to repair their car after it had broken down in Jenniker Street, Arcadia.

While they were working on the car, a group of men came out of a nearby house and approached the vehicle.

Naidu said an argument broke out between the two groups.

She said multiple shots were fired, killing the driver of the car and wounding his two passengers.

The man killed was identified as Donovan Dawson, 23, of Vastrap in Booysen Park. The two wounded men were taken to hospital.
