The body of an elderly man who had been stabbed several times was found at Brighton Beach yesterday morning.
Police spokeswoman Colonel Priscilla Naidu said Christian Opperman, of Bluewater Bay, had arrived at the beach at about 4am.
He parked his car and went for a walk. “He chatted with fishermen before disappearing behind the sand dunes. Not long after, a jogger alerted [a] security guard to his body lying on the beach,” she said.
Opperman’s cellphone, wallet and car keys were missing. Police suspect that robbery was the motive for the attack.
