A 26-year-old graphic design graduate has been convicted of the murder of police Constable Devin Hattingh.
The Port Elizabeth High Court said on Wednesday morning that the state had proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Nqaba Charles shot Hattingh, 31, on July 28 2014, while he performed private security duties for a furniture removal truck in Motherwell.
Charles's co-accused, Jabulanie Mkaba, was acquitted due to a lack of evidence.
The court is currently hearing argument in mitigation of sentence.
