“Platteklip Gorge is one of the more difficult hiking routes on the mountain.”. Not true at all. Platteklip Gorge is the easiest route up the mountain, and the one recommended by Table Mountain National Park. However the mountain is steep, and when the wind is blowing as it was over the weekend, anything can happen. Very unfortunate end for this young man.
