Municipality fills 128 vacant posts

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has filled about 128 vacancies in the last six months – more than half the recruits being from the Bay region.

Among the new appointments made recently were those of city manager, executive director for human settlements, metro police chief, various posts in middle management and a number of plumbers.

The metro said it had followed stringent selection criteria to source excellent talent and skills.

The bulk of the positions filled were in the infrastructure, engineering, electricity and energy department.
