Fatal shooting near Helenvale school

A 24-year-old man was shot dead outside Helenvale Primary School yesterday morning.

Police spokeswoman Colonel Priscilla Naidu said Reagan Wild had been shot in the hand and neck.

“At this stage, the motive and circumstances of the shooting are not known,” she said.

“Wild succumbed to his injuries in hospital.”

Naidu said Wild was not believed to have had any gang affiliation.

Insiders say the murder could have been a revenge attack linked to an alleged fight with a gangster in the area earlier this week.

The provincial gang investigation unit has taken over the case.
