PE gang affiliate arrested

Police in Bethelsdorp this weekend succeeded in arresting a gang affiliate on charges relating to murder and attempted murder.

According to police spokeswoman Colonel Priscilla Naidu, the 24-year-old suspect was arrested in Kleinskool on Saturday night.

His arrest is linked to the murder of Luzuko Majiela, 14, on October 23.

Majiela was fatally injured in a house in Kleinskool when the door was kicked open and two people entered and fired shots.

The suspect was also linked to the case of a 19-year-old man who was found in a house in Kleinskool’s Eucomus Street earlier this month with gunshot wounds to his mouth and shoulder, Naidu said.

“The suspect will appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrates court [tomorrow]. Police are investigating further links to other cases.”
