Search goes on for crew members still missing at sea

Hope is dwindling among the families of eight fishermen missing since Sunday morning, when their chokka boat capsized and ran aground at Cape St Francis.

Family, friends and others lined the shore at Sunset Rock yesterday as rescue workers continued the search among the coastal rocks in howling winds, large swells and icy water.

“I have lost hope,” John Max said. Max, 38, was waiting for news about his cousin, Paseka Piki, who had been onboard the Maredon when it capsized.
