Three die in head-on crash in Motherwell

Three people were killed in a head-on collision between two vehicles at the R334 and Tyinira Road intersection in Motherwell at the weekend.

Eastern Cape deputy director of provincial traffic Charles Bramwell said the collision happened shortly before 11pm on Saturday.

“All three occupants inside the Toyota Tazz passed away on the scene while the driver of the Ford Fiesta was taken to hospital,” he said.

None of the victims’ names could be released as authorities were still attempting to trace their next-of-kin, Bramwell said.

Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
