Three men stole a 9mm pistol, a safe and a white Toyota bakkie after forcing their way into a house in Humewood, Port Elizabeth, yesterday.
The men were hiding in the garden when renovators arrived at the Dundalk Street house, police spokeswoman Colonel Priscilla Naidu said.
“The men, two of them armed, forced their way into the house,” she said.
The homeowner was away, but the men tied up his daughter, father and two domestic workers.
“They ransacked the house, stole a 9mm pistol and a safe and fled in the bakkie which was on the property.”
It was not clear what happened to the renovators, Naidu said.
