Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s external telephone communication both in and out of NMBM is severely restricted and congested, affecting all sections dealing with the public.
The municipality has said that Telkom repairs are ongoing and may take most of the day.
“Telephone services at NMBM will be restored later this afternoon at the latest,” said municipal spokesperson Mthubanzi Mniki.
According to Telkom, the problem revolves around a major break in the cables, affecting the Lillian Diedericks Building where most of the municipal service delivery departments are based.
“Telkom’s technicians are on site, and the municipality will advise as soon as the normal telephone service is restored,” said Mniki.
NMBM apologise for the inconvenience caused.
