An event meant to launch a tarring of gravel roads project in Nelson Mandela Bay’s Walmer township turned chaotic on Monday morning when a group of residents donning ANC T-shirts disrupted the event.

The Herald reporter, Avuyile Mngxitama-Diko, was attacked by the group while trying to take pictures of their demonstration.

They shoved her around, pulling at her clothes and demanded that she delete the photographs she had taken.

Among those in the group was former ANC Ward 4 councillor Nomajama Benya.
