A Kamesh man is recovering in the Uitenhage Provincial Hospital after he was shot and robbed shortly after selling his car in Uitenhage at the weekend.
The 23-year-old man had advertised his car on social media and was contacted by a man in Uitenhage.
At 2pm on Saturday, he drove the car to Church Street, where he completed the transaction. He then took a taxi home to Kamesh. “Upon exiting the taxi, the victim was chased by three armed men,” police Captain Gerda Swart said.
“The suspects opened fire, wounding the victim, who collapsed in a yard in Swallow Drive.
“The shooters took the money the victim had made from selling his car and fled in a gold VW Polo.”
