The African National Congress Women’s League on Friday accused Public Protector Thuli Madonsela of trying to please the Democratic Alliance.

Madonsela is coming under pressure as she prepares to complete an investigation into state capture and said this week that her probe into state capture was at the heart of fresh allegations about her being a CIA “spy”.

The league said it was “surprised that despite her previous claims of not having resources to investigate complains (sic)‚” she had “moved with speed to ensure that she doesn’t disappoint vivid Israel supporters i.e Democratic Alliance”.

It would be unfortunate‚ said the league‚ for the office of the public protector to be part of an agenda to advance narrow political opportunism.

“Any investigation into state capture activities that excludes white monopoly capital‚ is advancement of white supremacy and serves a racial political agenda that hinders the building of non-racial society‚” said the league in a statement issued by secretary-general Meokgo Matuba.
