State wants maximum sentence for disgraced lawyer

The prosecution has called upon the court to impose the maximum sentence on disgraced attorney Michael Randell.

State advocate Wilhelm de Villiers said Randell, at age 63, was not too old to go to prison, as tennis ace Bob Hewitt proved on Tuesday.

De Villiers asked that no less than 15 years be imposed on Randell, who defrauded Greenwood Primary School out of more than R2.5-million while serving on the school’s governing body between 1999 and 2006.

The court will deliver sentence at noon today.

Its amazing how the justice system works. There are people out on the streets that are stealing money from tax payers every damn day. Government stealing millions and millions but the state wants to give a lawyer 15yrs for apparently defrauding a school a million years ago. Absolute bullshit. I tell you the main reason behind this ridiculous so called sentencing is that he had lots of cases against the ANC and we all know what happens when you take on them. They find some bullshit to prosecute on. This man has helped 1000’s over his lifetime fighting against Assholes that do people in. How on earth does a so called state witness just dissapear and leave the country just like that.

This countries justice system is a disgrace.

Go look for real criminals and stop trying to cripple the people that have done so much for this country/city.

And lastly he did a case for me a few years ago where some arsehole employer tried to make a fool out of me and guess what. Case won. Employer walked with his tail between his disrespectful legs.

This man did a 3rd party claim for me many years ago. I could not believe how little I was awarded. I now wonder where the difference went to.
