Municipal refuse collectors on strike

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has advised residents with transport to take their refuse to nearby transfer stations as refuse collection employees are on strike.

Municipal spokesman Mthubanzi Mniki said they would keep the public informed of any developments.

“There is a contingency plan currently in place, however due to conditions in related to the strike, we expect delays in refuse collection,” he said.

“The municipality would also like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this, efforts are currently being made to bring the situation to normal.”
