Skeleton spooks residents

The spine-chilling discovery of a skeleton in bushes behind Cranwell Drive in Forest Hill yesterday has horrified residents.

The skeleton was discovered by two residents at about 1.30pm while they were cutting wood at the dead end of the road.

Police spokesman Warrant Officer Alwin Labans said the bones appeared to be those of a squatter who had set up camp in the dense bush.

“The bones were found in the bush by two Humewood residents who were cutting wood for themselves,” he said.

“At this point, we think the bones belong to a male squatter. They were found in a clearing where he seemed to have been living, judging by the clothes and cooking utensils found. There was nothing but bones left of the body.”
