Disbelief, rage over ‘preferential treatment’

Judge Thokozile Masipa has once again drawn criticism for her latest Oscar Pistorius judgment – this time for imprisoning the paralympian for only six years for murder – a sentence regularly handed down to stock thieves and burglars.

However, the prosecutors could also directly petition the SCA without going through the trial court. Pistorius would remain in prison during the process. Masipa was sharply criticised by many on Twitter for being too lenient.
