EP Rugby Union back in court today

The Eastern Province Rugby Union and 36 of its aggrieved creditors will return to the Port Elizabeth High Court at 2pm today after lawyers for the players asked for some time to draft answering affidavits.

The matter had been set down for Tuesday morning for EP to either pay up the more than R18-million owed to players or face final liquidation.

Paul Jooste, on behalf on EP Rugby, said R20-million had already been placed in trust.

He wants the matter to be postponed for three weeks – something the players are opposed to it.
