Jailed king Dalindyebo’s home vandalised

Jailed Abathembu king Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo’s Bumbane Great Place in Mthatha has been vandalised.

Members of the family found the ceiling board of the home had been broken with pieces of it on the floor.

Goat droppings (feaces) were also found inside the house which has been vacant since Dalindyebo went to prison.

Relatives had been checking up on the house when they were met with the scene. The family said they would open a case with the police.

The king’s couches were laced with a white powder that looked like baby powder.

Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela said nothing was stolen from the house, but some household items were broken.

“I am aware of the matter but I am yet to receive an official report on it, so I cannot comment further at this point,” he said, adding that he was on his way to the Great Place.
