Varsity research going worldwide

A JOURNAL published by NMMU aimed at encouraging social change in South Africa and internationally was officially launched last night.

Educational Research for Social Change (ERSC) has also now been included in the approved list of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), it was announced.

At the launch, NMMU deputy vicechancellor for teaching and learning Professor Denise Zinn said the journal contained the kind of research which could make a difference.

It contained “knowledge of how human beings interact or don’t interact . . . [it deals with] social sciences, insights, thoughts, philosophies”.

Established in 2012, it was accepted onto the DHET list last month.

Together with appearing in the list of approved South African journals, the ERSC will also be included in the International Bibliography of Social Sciences and other data bases.
