Helenvale councillor du Plessis found guilty

Nelson Mandela Bay DA councillor Nico du Plessis has been found guilty of bringing the party into disrepute today.
Du Plessis was accused of abusing his ward's discretionary fund last year.
The party's provincial disciplinary committee chairperson, Kevin Mileham said the committee recommended that his membership be terminated but that the sentence be suspended for 18 months.
The decision would have to be rubber stamped by the DA provincial executive committee.
