R900 000 theft case postponed

A FORMER estate agent and wife of a DA councillor in Nelson Mandela Bay will return to court later this month in connection with the theft of almost R900 000. Yvette Greyling, 43, the founder of Just Letting Uitenhage, who made a brief appearance in the Port Elizabeth Commercial Crimes Court yesterday, is accused of siphoning R880 150 from her clients’ rental accounts between 2013 and 2014. She appeared in court late last year to apply for legal aid representation.

Her application was approved yesterday. Her case was postponed to January 22 for consultation and her bail was extended. Greyling’s husband Francois, who is the DA councillor for the Despatch area, accompanied his wife to court yesterday. The alleged misappropriation of funds was discovered in November 2014.
