Search for new hospital boss

The Eastern Cape Department of Health will advertise the Dora Nginza Hospital chief executive post soon, spokesman Siyanda Manana said yesterday.

This follows the appointment of Dr Ntombi Qangule, the facility’s former chief executive, as director of hospital services at the department’s head office in Bhisho.

Manana called the move a precautionary redeployment – but Qangule was forced to leave the hospital after several union strikes and amid claims by unions of mismanagement.

Qangule was director of hospital services before being appointed to Dora Nginza. Paediatric cardiologist Lungile Pepeta, paediatrics head and acting clinical services head, has been acting as chief executive.
