DA urges Zuma to continue using SAA

Now that President Jacob Zuma has shown he can do it‚ the DA yesterday encouraged him to keep using SAA for the occasional intercontinental flight.

The DA’s Kobus Marais said that by using the national carrier, millions of rand would freed up and could be used towards much-needed job creation.

It would display Zuma’s seriousness for economic stability by opting for modest modes of transport‚ he said.

Zuma used SAA to fly to and from last week’s United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Marais said it would also allow for funds to be reallocated to maintaining the presidential jet, Inkwazi.

His comments came after an oversight visit to the SAAF‚ which revealed that‚ apart from the “routine maintenance repair or snags”‚ there was nothing wrong with Inkwazi.
